IDRACOWRA
STATION
A new chapter in the McKay family legacy
In 2019 we added the neighbouring station, Idracowra, to our portfolio — a move that has given our business additional flexibility, scale and opportunity for development and to eventually pass down to the future generations.

Idracowra covers approximately 4628 Km2. The country is undulating sandhills, open grass plains, low edible mulga flats, bluebush stands and partial spinifex ridges; the northern portion is traversed by the Finke River, which provides semi-permanent waterholes and adds an exciting ecological dimension to the property.

Because Idracowra lies adjacent to Umbearra, the two stations work in synergy: staff and machinery share, cattle movements are optimised, and we’re able to implement a broader land-use strategy across the combined country. At Idracowra we’re developing the grazing infrastructure and refining our herd management approach so that we can eventually run up to 14,000 head across both properties.
